Vehicle Registration

TAGS AND ALABAMA TITLES MAY BE PROCESSED AT ALL SATELLITE LOCATIONS.

MULTIPLE TITLES AND ALL OUT OF STATE TITLES MUST BE DONE IN OZARK.

Some tags require certain documentation which we must receive before the tag can be renewed (Firefighters, Heavy trucks, Veterans, National Guard, Rescue Squad, AM Radio, Retired Military). Any transaction requiring an affidavit or supporting documents will have to be made in person at our tag office or through the mail. If there is a problem processing your renewal, we will attempt to contact you by phone, or email if provided, Monday thru Thursday between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm. If we are unable to reach you, we will return your payment.

A change in license plates such as regular plate to a personalized will have to be made in the tag office.

Online customers will be charged a convenience fee and processing fee. The mail fee is no longer collected, and all other fees are to the credit card processor.

Decals, tags, and tag receipts will be mailed out on the next business day after they are renewed. A printable receipt will be available for proof of online payment only; it is not to be used as a valid tag receipt. Your official receipt will be mailed with your renewal.

The Alabama Department of Revenue in Montgomery sets all vehicle values, all title regulations and all other regulations regarding motor vehicle laws. These laws and regulations get their basis from the laws passed by the Alabama legislature.

Penalty Schedule

  • Failure to renew your tag in your renewal month: $15.00 plus interest
  • Failure to transfer a purchased vehicle within 20 calendar days: $15.00
  • Failure to register a vehicle within 30 days of an individual moving into the State with a valid out-of-state license: $15.00
